Norm AI is an AI-powered legal and regulatory compliance platform built for enterprises operating in highly regulated environments. Its technology converts laws, regulations, and internal policies into AI agents that can perform legal and compliance tasks at scale. Norm AI describes this approach as “agentic law”—embedding legal reasoning directly into AI systems.

Norm AI’s Legal AI Agents are built and refined by attorneys and legal engineers. These agents can automate regulatory reviews and other high-stakes legal workflows while incorporating an organization’s specific standards, policies, risk posture, and institutional context.

The platform’s Supervisory AI provides a legal and regulatory verification layer for other AI agents. It can evaluate AI outputs and actions against applicable laws, regulations, privacy requirements, confidentiality rules, and communication standards, while generating an independent audit trail for each decision.

Norm AI also operates Norm Law, an affiliated AI-native law firm. Norm Law uses Norm AI’s technology to deliver legal services to institutional clients, with senior attorneys supervising, calibrating, and improving the AI agents. Norm Ai itself states that it is a technology and service provider, while legal services are provided by Norm Law’s licensed attorneys.

The platform is designed around outcome-driven legal automation. Norm says its technology can encode firm-specific standards and institutional knowledge into AI systems, allowing repeatable legal and compliance work to be performed at scale while senior attorneys focus on decisions requiring human judgment.

Norm AI is particularly focused on financial services and other highly regulated industries. The company says institutions managing more than $30 trillion in combined assets use its technology, and its clients deploy legal AI agents directly within in-house legal and compliance workflows.

Norm AI was founded in July 2023 by John Nay. In July 2026, the company announced a $120 million Series C at a $1.2 billion valuation, bringing total funding to more than $260 million. The round was led by Khosla Ventures.
